My Priorities:
-
Encourage the development of food shelves, rent relief programs, and other resources for residents experiencing hardship.
Support and protect the rights of immigrants, LGBTQIA2S+, and other members of marginalized communities in Robbinsdale.
Create more opportunities for residents to have their voices heard by city council and staff and advocate for increasing visibility to city processes.
Ensure that renters’ voices and concerns are given the same attention as those of home and business owners in our city.
-
Promote the improvement and preservation of our water and air quality, including efforts to reduce PFAS contamination and employment of renewable energy where feasible.
Support bike and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure to reduce car dependency.
Sustain efforts to maintain public parks, remove invasive species from our environment, and expand native plantings.
-
Ensure our tax dollars are used towards road maintenance, drinking water safety, and other necessary projects to preserve and improve our city.
Create more opportunities to actively engage with residents about the budget process to increase visibility and resident participation.
Support accessibility of public transportation, including efforts to extend the light rail.
Collaborate with city staff to identify grant application opportunities to make improvements to Robbinsdale more cost-effective and to better incorporate resident suggestions.
-
Assess what can be done differently in the future to protect residents post-Metro Surge.
Facilitate deeper conversations between law enforcement officers and residents.
Promote strict guardrails around public safety surveillance tools such as ALPR cameras and balance concerns over data collection/ownership and resident privacy.
Advocate for a culture of accountability and transparency between public safety professionals and our community.
